Ria Stienen was born in Ospel and grew up in Ospeldijk. She has now been living in the outskirts of Nederweert for over 20 years. Ria is married and mother of 2 adult sons. She has been an alderman of the municipality of Nederweert since June 2021 and is involved in, among other things, the countryside, sustainability, the energy transition and the new waste system. Complex issues, but oh so important for the future of our (grand)children.

Before Ria became an alderman, she fulfilled various HR functions in the business community. What motivates people and how can you help people in their personal development, were and are important motivations in her work.

The reason she became active in Nederweert is the fact that in her eyes health was a neglected child on the political agenda. While this is so very important. We only live once and everything becomes relative when health comes under pressure. Nederweert is committed to a healthier Nederweert and she would like to contribute to this.

Next to politics Ria is an experienced VP Human Resources within the Supply Chain, 3PL, logistics, (Public)Transport and lately Hospitals. Ria focuses on total services for HR and organizational science. Not only employment law matters, such as dismissal and employment contracts/company regulations, but also recruitment, the manageability of staff turnover, absenteeism, remuneration systems, Interim HR, Sickness Absence, Employment Legal Advice, Employee Participation, Unburdening and Service are becoming more and more decisive. Strategic personnel planning provides a head start here.

Tailor-made Coaching is another aspect that is increasingly in demand: HR with Business Sense! Mirroring the challenges or change options/methods to be taken for DGAs from SMEs as well as HR advisors. You must also meet the current requirements when compiling personal files. Think, for example, of file construction regarding conflicts of employment law and recordings of performance and assessment interviews. Cries such as Employer Branding and Employer of Choice (being an attractive employer) are becoming more and more common, but what can we do about it ourselves as entrepreneurs? 



Ria studied Law at the Tilburg University and holds a Master in Business Science from the Radboud university in Nijmegen.
